About TumbleweedMC
TumbleweedMC is a crossplay network built around a semi-vanilla survival server with more depth than a plain SMP. The survival side adds an economy, linear rankups, McMMO, land claims, server mines, and silk-touchable spawners.
Manhunt and Slimefun give the network a different pace. You can settle into long-term survival progression, then switch to player-versus-player hunts or tech-focused survival. WildWest and Bedwars are also part of the wider network, with WildWest planned as a large open-world mode.
What Makes It Different
TumbleweedMC puts prison-style rankups and server mines inside a claimed survival SMP. It then connects that long-term grind to organized Manhunt matches and Slimefun progression.
Slimefun is a server-side Minecraft progression system that adds technology-style items and machines to survival without requiring a client mod.
Slimefun is a named survival mode and a major custom gameplay system.
Prison servers turn mining into a gated progression ladder: players break blocks in designated mines, sell the resources, and spend their earnings on ranks that unlock more valuable areas.
Survival uses prison-style server mines, rankups, and related progression.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
The current network identity and MOTD prominently feature SMP gameplay.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Survival is the network's main established mode.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
The survival mode has a developed in-game economy.
Manhunt is an asymmetrical Minecraft chase in which a runner gathers resources and completes a goal while hunters track and stop them.
Manhunt is a named core mode with public and private match formats.
The main survival mode is semi-vanilla rather than fully vanilla. Plugins add an economy, rankups, McMMO, land claims, server mines, and special spawner rules. A lobby connects the survival experience with Manhunt and Slimefun.
Survival progression follows a linear rankup path. Server mines support the prison-style grind, while McMMO skills improve as you play. Silk-touchable spawners give advanced players another way to build farms and earn value.
Slimefun is a major custom system, alongside McMMO, custom plugins, silk-touchable spawners, rankup perks, server mines, and added features such as Herobrine.
Survival uses custom land claims and prison-style server mines. The WildWest project is built around a 15,000-by-15,000-block open world with horses, mines, guns, and narcotics.
Manhunt supports public games and private or party matches. KitPvP uses guns, and the WildWest project adds gun battles to a much larger open world. Survival also has land claims, so the main risk comes from PvP activities and dedicated combat modes rather than unrestricted base destruction.
The survival world has a developed in-game economy tied to its rankup and mining systems. Voting awards an in-game votecrate when you are online. Donor ranks and other rewards are sold through the official store.
Manhunt's public and private party matches provide the clearest repeatable group activity.
The network has an official Discord community. Global chat is English-only, while other languages are allowed in private chats. The main social play comes from survival neighbors, party Manhunt games, and shared progression.
Cheats, advantageous mods, AFK abuse, automated redstone devices, griefing, spam, harassment, hate speech, discrimination, server advertising, impersonation, and abusive chat are prohibited. Players should ask nearby neighbors before building or claiming, and arguments must leave global chat.
The official store offers donor ranks and in-game rewards. Players can also support the server by voting, with an online votecrate reward for each vote.

History of TumbleweedMC
TumbleweedMC was running by January 2021. Its earliest established form was already tied to the tumbleweedmc.com address that remains the network's main connection point.
As the network developed, survival became its main anchor. The mode took a semi-vanilla base and added an economy, linear rankups, server mines, McMMO skills, custom land claims, and silk-touchable spawners. That combination pushed it toward a survival-prison hybrid rather than a basic vanilla SMP.
The network then expanded beyond survival. Manhunt introduced public matches as well as private or party games, while Slimefun added a more technical layer to survival. KitPvP, including gun-based combat, was also part of the network's advertised mode mix.
By July 2025, TumbleweedMC was operating as a Java-and-Bedrock network with Survival, Manhunt, Slimefun, TNTRun, and additional modes in its wider lineup. Bedrock players received a separate connection address and port for crossplay access.
WildWest became one of the network's larger projects. Its planned world covers 15,000 by 15,000 blocks and combines guns, narcotics, mines, and horses with an open-world western setting. Bedwars has also been developed with original maps for solo and party play.
Today, TumbleweedMC's clearest focus is the mix of economy survival, Manhunt, and Slimefun. Its survival world keeps the long grind of rankups and McMMO, while the network's other modes provide shorter PvP sessions and larger experimental projects.
