About Purple Prison
Purple Prison turns mining into a long progression ladder. Players work through custom mines, sell what they collect, rank up, develop personal plots, trade through player shops and the auction house, and choose whether to enter PvP events or stay focused on the prison economy. It is a dedicated Prison server rather than a multi-mode network.
What Makes It Different
Purple Prison keeps its identity around one Prison mode instead of splitting its community across unrelated game types. Mining, rankups, plots, player commerce, gangs, minigames, and optional PvP all feed into the same progression instead of existing as separate network lanes.
RankUP servers make advancing through an ordered series of in-game ranks the main progression goal.
Players convert mining income into ordered ranks and prestige progression with increasingly valuable access and multipliers.
Prison servers turn mining into a gated progression ladder: players break blocks in designated mines, sell the resources, and spend their earnings on ranks that unlock more valuable areas.
Mining custom prison mines, selling blocks, and advancing through prison ranks define the server's central mode.
Player Shops are player-run places or interfaces where players sell items to other players for currency or agreed trade goods.
Players operate plot shops and sell items directly to other players through player-run commerce.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Mining income, currency, tokens, auctions, trades, and player pricing form a substantial persistent economy.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Optional duels, team duels, KOTH, PvP mines, supply drops, and PvP areas provide recurring player combat.
Mining is the central activity, with more than 30 custom-built mines offering different blocks to sell. Players can also build on personal plots, visit other players, trade items and currency, use the auction house, join gangs, complete achievements, and take part in parkour, dropper, maze, and other minigame content.
Players earn money by mining and selling blocks, then spend it on rankups and stronger progression access. The server also uses prestige ranks, custom pickaxe enchantments, daily rewards, achievements, vote rewards, gang levels, and upgraded multipliers to extend the grind beyond the basic rank ladder.
Purple Prison adds custom pickaxe enchantments, Omega Axes, rank swords, armor progression, walking trails, death sounds, death effects, tags, achievements, daily rewards, gang levels, and other server-specific upgrades. These systems sit on top of the normal Java client without requiring a custom launcher.
The world is organized around a prison-themed spawn, public mines, event areas, and a plot area for personal building and shops. Mines reset when they reach 50 percent depletion, while plots give players a stable place to build, store items, host shops, and meet other players.
PvP is optional rather than a requirement for mining progression. Players can enter duels and team duels, compete in KOTH events, contest supply drops and PvP mines, or use the PvP areas for more direct combat. New players receive PvP protection, so players who prefer mining and building can avoid most fights.
Mining supplies most of the server's regular income, but players can also run plot shops, buy and sell through the auction house, trade directly, and use server games such as coinflip, itemflip, tokenflip, and crash. The economy also includes tokens, voting rewards, giveaways, and player-run pricing.
Recurring content includes KOTH, supply drops, PvP mines, duels, sumo-style free-for-all events, parkour, dropper and maze maps, seasonal warps, vote parties, and themed crate events. Seasonal content has continued into 2026, including the Easter fishing event at Warp Easter.
Discord is the main social and support hub. Players use it for support tickets, ban appeals, staff applications, bug reports, and server announcements, while in-game commands provide player reporting, gangs, trading, giveaways, and player statistics.
The server bans hacked clients, macros, automated scripts, exploits, duping, ban evasion, unsafe advertising, harassment, hate speech, DDoS or doxxing threats, and real-money trading between players. In-game scamming is allowed in limited circumstances, but plot-shop scams and deals involving real money or Minecraft accounts are prohibited.
The server is free to join and operates an official store selling packages, seasonal crates, tags, perks, and other in-game items. Store terms describe purchases as donations, make them nonrefundable, and state that purchases do not place buyers above the server rules.
Custom mines are specially designed mining areas with server-specific resources, layouts, rewards, or progression mechanics.
Players mine across more than 30 custom-built prison mines, selling their blocks for income; mines reset at 50 percent depletion.
Plot building provides individually managed parcels where players can construct, collaborate, visit, and control building permissions.
Players claim 47-by-47 plots where they build, store items, host shops, visit others, and create stable personal spaces.
Prestige ranks are ordered progression tiers that players advance through, often resetting or looping after reaching the highest tier.
Purple Prison offers 100 prestige ranks, with progression rewards scaling up to a stated 35x prestige multiplier.
An auction house lets players list items for sale and buy goods through a shared market interface.
Purple Prison supplements direct trades and plot shops with an auction house for buying and selling items between players.
PvP protection temporarily prevents or reduces player-versus-player vulnerability for eligible players under defined server rules.
New players receive PvP protection, allowing those focused on mining and building to avoid early combat pressure.
Pickaxe enchantments improve or modify mining tools through special effects that make resource gathering more capable or efficient.
Custom pickaxe enchantments improve the mining-focused progression loop and are listed alongside ranks, achievements, and other server upgrades.
A gang system lets players form organized groups with shared identity, cooperation, competition, or group-specific rewards.
Players can join gangs, coordinate socially, and advance gang levels as part of Purple Prison's shared progression systems.
KOTH events are competitive area-control activities where players contest a marked position or objective against other participants.
KOTH is a recurring Purple Prison activity alongside duels, supply drops, PvP mines, and other event content.
Coinflip games are chance-based player wagering activities where participants risk currency on an uncertain outcome.
The economy includes coinflip, itemflip, tokenflip, and crash games alongside ordinary mining income and trading.
Supply drops are contested reward deliveries that create temporary locations or opportunities for players to obtain valuable resources.
Supply drops are recurring event objectives that bring optional competition into the server's broader prison economy.
Seasonal warps are limited or rotating themed destinations that provide temporary activities, areas, or rewards tied to an ongoing season.
Purple Prison maintains themed seasonal destinations, including Warp Easter with fishing rewards and a carrot-stealing mechanic.
Direct trading enables players to exchange items or other supported assets through a mutually confirmed transaction interface.
Players can trade directly in addition to using plot shops and the auction house, creating multiple routes for player commerce.
Daily rewards provide recurring incentives for returning to a server and collecting scheduled bonuses or useful items.
Daily rewards extend Purple Prison's progression beyond mining, alongside voting rewards, achievements, and custom upgrades.

History of Purple Prison
Purple Prison launched in August 2014 as a Java Prison server built around mining, rank progression, plots, and player trading. In late 2021, its old forum-style website was replaced with a central site for joining, suggestions, appeals, staff applications, and store access.
A major reset opened in December 2023 with refreshed worlds and maps, larger 47-by-47 plots, a reworked economy, improved crate and voting rewards, and 100 available prestige ranks. The reset also expanded achievements, daily rewards, custom enchantments, events, and plot and gang systems.
The server has continued adding seasonal content after the reset. In April 2026, a seasonal Easter warp introduced fishing rewards with a chance to steal carrots from another player.
