About Near Vanilla
Near Vanilla is a semi-vanilla survival SMP for Java players. The game stays close to normal Minecraft, with only a few plugins that help without changing how you play: a live web map, block logging so staff can undo griefing, one-player sleep and a few extra crafting recipes.
The server is for adults (18+) and you apply to join the whitelist. Players work together on big builds, share resources and host their own events. The server runs in seasons with a new world each time, and Season 7 started in August 2024. The server is in English.
What Makes It Different
Every past season world, back to Season 1 in 2017, can be downloaded from the official site so you can explore old builds in single player.
Semi-vanilla play with only a few helper plugins that keep normal Minecraft rules.
A whitelisted community SMP where players build and host events together.
Seasonal survival worlds, with Season 7 starting in August 2024.
You play normal survival on a shared world, gathering, exploring and building alone or in group projects. Plugins only add small helpers like the live map and one-player sleep.
Each season has its own world. Past worlds from Season 1 to Season 7, plus a Season 6 creative world, are posted for download on the official site.
Players share ideas and resources, team up on builds and host events together. In-game chat is linked to the community chat so everyone stays in touch.
Joining is by application and whitelist. Block logging lets staff check and roll back griefing, and items lost to a bug can be given back.
A live web map shows the whole world in real time, and you do not need to log in to view it.
You apply to join, and only accepted players are added to the whitelist of this 18+ server.
A small set of extra crafting recipes was added because players asked for them to make life easier.
The server has run in seasons since June 2017, with a new survival world for each one.
Every block change is logged, so staff can find griefers and roll back damage.
Only one player needs to sleep in a bed to skip the night for everyone.
Every past season world, from Season 1 to Season 7, can be downloaded from the official site.
Your inventory is saved each time you die, so staff can give items back if a bug kills you.

Near Vanilla's first season started on 6 June 2017. Season 4 ran from June 2019 to July 2020 and Season 5 from July 2020 to January 2022. Season 6 lasted from January 2022 to July 2024, and Season 7 began on 24 August 2024.
