About Minewind
Minewind turns survival into a search for powerful loot. Players explore a large wilderness, raid chests and abandoned structures, trade with villagers, hunt boss monsters and build bases while deciding how much risk to accept outside protected land. Custom items, clans, events and cooperative Open Parties add more structure without replacing the underlying survival world.
What Makes It Different
Minewind combines permissive survival rules with unusually elaborate custom loot. Wilderness chests, villagers and boss monsters can provide items with spells, essences and special effects, while land claims protect selected areas rather than making the whole world safe. That creates a server where exploration, combat and base security remain connected.
Events are organized Minecraft activities that give players a distinct objective and rules for a particular occasion or limited period.
Minewind maintains multiple recurring and themed events with distinct rewards and objectives.
Custom Items are server-created weapons, tools, armor, or usable objects with abilities or properties beyond Minecraft’s standard items.
Custom weapons, spells, essences, effects and Midas Keys are central to progression and combat.
Anarchy is a Minecraft server style where players operate under very few enforced rules, leaving survival and conflict largely in player hands.
The server permits griefing and wilderness conflict under a short ruleset, though claims and specific rules provide some structure.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server centers on gathering, building, exploring and surviving in a persistent wilderness.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Players share a long-running multiplayer survival world with bases, clans, events and social play.
Land claims are protected areas that let a player or group control who can build, break, and interact with blocks inside a marked part of the world.
The server provides claim tools, claim power progression and configurable visitor permissions.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Wilderness combat, clan battles, Spawn Control, Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All are supported.
PvE is Minecraft gameplay centered on surviving and overcoming enemies and hazards controlled by the game rather than by other players.
Boss monsters, evolved mobs, labyrinths and wilderness hazards are important sources of progression.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The long-running wilderness retains player builds and is actively managed to preserve older creations.
Use /wild or the compass to leave spawn and search the wilderness for useful loot. Treasure chests, abandoned minecarts, villages and boss monsters all contribute to progression, and villagers trade through emerald-based offers. Players can set homes, teleport to friends and return to a wilderness death location with /back. The world supports ordinary building and survival alongside custom combat items and events.
New players choose an apprentice path for an initial gear direction, then improve through wild loot, boss drops, villager trades, events, voting and custom Midas Keys. Essences can be combined with items to create specialized effects, while valuable items and expanded storage give long-term players more ways to organize and refine their equipment. Many perks and items sold through the store can also be earned by playing.
Custom content includes weapons, armor, tools, spells, essences, effects, Midas Keys, special monsters and item-protection systems. Recent update material includes Tempest effects, Jester and Tempest Midas Keys, the Summoner's Labyrinth, custom loot generation and configurable claim interactions with spells and other special items.
Minewind uses a persistent, very large survival wilderness with no stated world-size limit. The server has worked to preserve old builds through world recycling, so abandoned bases, cities and landmarks can remain part of the landscape for years. Players can build in the Overworld, Nether and End, with claims available for protecting selected land.
PvP and griefing are part of the wilderness risk, although land claims provide protected areas with configurable permissions. Minewind also runs focused combat activities including Spawn Control, Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All Deathmatch. Spawn Control gives clans a timed contest for control of spawn and access to special rewards.
Emeralds support villager trading, while Dragon Eggs function as an important resource for clan creation, event rewards and some special services. Players also gain claim power through play and voting, with additional claim power and storage options available through the store. The economy is tied more to loot, trading and rare items than to a conventional jobs-and-auctions progression ladder.
Events range from boss and wilderness challenges to themed activities such as Abyssal, Fox Hunt, Bait, Beef Event and Attack on Giant. Spawn Control is a clan competition for spawn influence, while Tempest added Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All Deathmatch with Dragon Eggs and Midas Keys among the possible rewards.
Open Party lets players find nearby adventurers in the wilderness, disables friendly fire within the party and increases boss-loot rewards as more members contribute. Boss drops can use Need, Greed and Pass voting between contributors. The community is supported through in-game systems, the official website, feedback forms and player reports, and the server does not maintain an official Discord.
The rules are short but do not make the wilderness peaceful. Players must treat others fairly, avoid cheating, report bugs and not exchange in-game items for real-world value. Griefing is allowed, while claims provide a separate way to protect land and control visitor permissions.
The official store sells lifetime ranks, Midas Keys, bundles, land-claim power, premium colors and Ender Chest tabs. Store contributions support development, but the server also states that all perks and items can be obtained free through gameplay.

History of Minewind
Minewind was already running by May 25, 2014 as a semi-vanilla anarchy survival server where players could fight, steal and grief outside safer areas. Its early identity centered on dangerous wilderness, hard difficulty and a Stormwind-inspired spawn.
The server later invested in preserving its long-lived world. A June 2022 world-recycling update described a wilderness that had grown to roughly 20 terabytes and introduced stronger efforts to retain old player builds instead of removing them simply because they had gone unvisited.
The 2024 update cycle expanded Minewind beyond straightforward survival with Open Parties, reworked wilderness loot, larger Ender Chests, technical infrastructure work and new event systems. The Tempest update followed in January 2025 with new Midas Key content, additional effects and Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All events.
