About Minevane
Minevane is a Java survival SMP for New Zealand and Australia. It keeps vanilla building and exploration at the center, then adds the tools that make a shared world easier to live in. You get homes, a custom /wayfare teleport, chest locks, sign shops, digital diamond storage and a live overworld map.
PvP is by agreement, while griefing and stealing are banned. New players begin with a custom starter challenge, and the minigames district adds bosses and challenges without turning the server into a giant minigame network. Proximity voice chat makes nearby towns, builds and expeditions more social, but it needs Simple Voice Chat on your client.
Minevane is now on Season 5, which began in July 2026. Seasons are not reset on a fixed timer, and finished worlds can be downloaded for singleplayer.
What Makes It Different
Minevane feels like a private regional SMP without being completely bare-bones. Its strongest twist is the mix of local community play, consensual PvP, proximity voice chat and small custom systems that make survival smoother without burying it under plugins.
Vanilla servers use Minecraft’s original blocks, items, rules, and progression without custom gameplay systems that redefine how players play.

Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server is fundamentally a survival world with vanilla-style building, exploration and resource progression.
The main game is vanilla-style survival with a few useful commands and shared districts. You start with one normal home plus `/home bed`, then use `/wayfare` to find a random wilderness location. Homes and warps use Teleport Crystals, while spawn and selected warps are free.
A custom starter challenge introduces new players to the server. The shopping district supports offline sign shops, and containers can be secured with chest locks. A separate minigames district adds bosses and challenges during the season.
Progression is mostly based on building, gathering, trading and improving your access to convenience tools rather than climbing RPG levels. Voting earns points for the `/voteshop`, where players can unlock extra homes, commands and custom items.
Gradient names become available after voting on all three listed sites for three days. Supporters can also unlock additional homes and travel or utility commands, but the core survival world remains free to play.
Minevane keeps custom content light. Its standout additions are the custom `/wayfare` random teleport, the starter challenge, gradient name tools, Teleport Crystals, digital diamond storage and the minigames district.
Simple Voice Chat is supported for server-side proximity conversations. Players who want to use voice chat need the client mod, while ordinary Java joining does not require a large gameplay modpack.
The server has reached five seasons since May 2022. Season 5 is the active world, and resets happen when the community is ready rather than on a set schedule.
A live overworld map shows the rendered world and player positions. Finished Seasons 1 through 4 are available as downloadable singleplayer worlds, so old builds do not have to disappear when a season ends.
PvP is consent-based. Players may fight when everyone involved agrees, but uninvited attacks are not part of normal play. Griefing and stealing are also prohibited, so the server suits players who want occasional organized fights rather than open-world raiding.
Minevane uses player-run sign shops in a dedicated shopping district, allowing trades to continue while the owner is offline. Teleport Crystals add a cost to most home and warp travel, creating a small resource sink.
Players can also deposit, withdraw and check their diamond balance with `/deposit`, `/withdraw` and `/balance`. Voting provides another route to useful items and commands through `/voteshop`.
The minigames district contains rotating or expanding activities, including bosses and challenges. New activities are added during the season rather than replacing the survival world with a separate network of modes.
Minevane is built for players in New Zealand and Australia, with a regional geo-lock that keeps the community close to home. The small-scale setup, local time zones and proximity voice chat encourage towns, shared builds and casual conversation.
Discord is the main support channel, and players can also contact staff in-game. The server's starter challenge helps set expectations for new arrivals.
No griefing, stealing, advertising, spam, cheating or hacking. Large lag machines and chunk loaders are forbidden, although large farms are allowed when they do not disrupt other players.
PvP requires agreement. Ask before building close to another player's base. Auto-reconnect mods and other unfair advantages are banned. Players may have only one alt online at a time, and excessive or highly offensive language is not allowed.
Minevane is free to play. Optional support costs $9 NZD per month and provides priority joining, up to 15 homes, a shorter `/wayfare` cooldown and convenience commands such as `/enderchest`, `/craft`, `/loom`, `/hat`, `/ping`, `/grindstone` and `/stonecutter`.
Supporters also receive access to a private Discord channel. The listed perks are focused on convenience and access rather than exclusive combat power or progression content.

History of Minevane
Minevane opened its first season in May 2022. Season 1 ran from May 2022 to May 2023 and covered Minecraft versions 1.18.2 through 1.19.4. It established the server as a local, mostly vanilla survival world for players in New Zealand and Australia.
The first world nearly ended when Codz accidentally deleted the entire server. Minevane recovered and moved into Season 2 as a fresh start, giving the community a chance to rebuild its shared world and settle into a more dependable rhythm.
Season 3 began as Codz's vanilla experiment and grew into something much larger than its original idea. The server kept its survival focus while adding the multiplayer conveniences that now define the everyday experience, including homes, teleport tools, shops and protected storage.
Season 4 became the revival era. It ran for about a year and a half, making it Minevane's longest season so far, and grew into its biggest and busiest world. The season also helped turn Minevane's community features into a more complete package, with social spaces, player commerce and additional activities alongside survival.
By July 2026, Minevane had reached Season 5. The new season continued the same light-touch approach instead of replacing survival with a heavily scripted mode. Resets are decided by the community rather than a fixed calendar.
Today, Minevane combines a current seasonal world with an archive of the first four seasons. Those completed worlds can be downloaded and played in singleplayer, preserving the builds and history of the server while Season 5 continues as the active chapter.
