HGMC Network is a Hunger Games-first Minecraft network being rebuilt around the old match format. Players join an arena, grab what they can, and fight until one survivor remains. The project is aimed at a wide range of clients, from Minecraft 1.7 through 1.26.
The 2026 return is still an alpha build. The network has been in maintenance while bugs, balance and unfinished features are worked through. Discord carries previews and updates during the rebuild.
What Makes It Different
HGMC combines an old-school Hunger Games format with unusually broad client-version support. Its history also includes dedicated arena maps and a multi-server setup built for timed matches.
Survival Games is a match-based Minecraft mode where players search a shared map for equipment and fight until one player or team is left alive.
The Hunger Games format is a survival-based last-player-standing game.
Minigames are compact Minecraft games with their own rules, objective, and bounded play area, usually resolved in a single round.
The server is organized around round-based competitive matches.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Player combat is the core of each match.
HGMC is built for round-based Hunger Games rather than a long SMP grind. Matches begin on a countdown, then players loot, move and fight until the field is cleared. The older setup used numbered hosts for separate game servers.
Progress resets with each round. The useful progression is practical: learning arena routes, looting quickly, choosing fights carefully and improving your survival time.
Custom arena maps and lobby builds are part of HGMC's presentation. A remade waiting lobby was created specifically for the network in 2020.
The server's world design centers on purpose-built Hunger Games arenas instead of a permanent survival continent. Serrulata Mountains is one named arena connected to its map history.
PvP is the main activity, not an optional side mode. A poor opening fight can end your round early, while smart movement and timing can matter as much as raw aim.
HGMC has a Discord community for previews, announcements and development updates. The server's public communication is primarily in French.

History of HGMC Network
HGMC Network traces its beginnings to 2012, making it an early French Minecraft server built around the Hunger Games format.
By April 2013, the network was already using numbered addresses from 1.hungergames-mc.fr through 8.hungergames-mc.fr. Players could watch for a match countdown, join an available server and wait for the Hunger Games round to begin.
The domain was still being recommended as a French Hunger Games destination in June 2014. Its appeal was tied to quick, competitive matches rather than a long-running SMP world.
Custom map work became part of the server's history. A Serrulata Mountains Hunger Games map was associated with the network in 2017, alongside efforts to recruit builders and terraforming-focused creators.
In 2020, a remade waiting lobby was showcased for HGMC.FR. The project used the play.hungergames-mc.fr address and had community links through Discord and social media during that era.
In 2026, HGMC entered a new rebuild phase under the HGMC Network name. A planned July 31 opening was postponed after early tests exposed bugs and balance problems, and the alpha opening was rescheduled for August 7 at 18:00.
The network now presents itself as a developing Hunger Games project with broad version support, custom map work and a Discord-led preview cycle. Its current build remains focused on bringing the old server back in a more modern form.
