About Hoplite
Hoplite puts Minecraft PvP into a UHC-style Battle Royale and a separate Duels mode. Battle Royale starts with a scramble for early loot, then sends players into a custom map to mine, explore, craft, and prepare before combat takes over. Duels offers shorter fights for practicing mechanics and testing the server's custom weapons. A free Battle Pass, quests, cosmetics, and optional proximity voice chat add longer-term progression around its matches.
What Makes It Different
Battle Royale is built as more than a chest-looting sprint. The opening phase gives players time to mine and assemble custom crafts, including Legendary Weapons, before the match turns into a last-player-or-team-standing fight. Hoplite also provides an optional installer for proximity voice chat, tying nearby conversation to the same high-stakes matches.

Battle Royale begins at the Cornucopia, where players race for starting loot before moving through the surrounding map to mine, explore, and craft. The published format uses a 12-minute grace period before open fighting, with victory going to the last player or team standing. Duels supplies faster, self-contained PvP matches, including party formats and modes such as FFA, Party Split, and tournaments.
Match XP advances the free or VIP Battle Pass, while quests, mode levels, gems, and cosmetics create goals between fights. Battle Royale and Duels have separate gem multipliers, and VIP adds larger multipliers and extra quest rerolls.
Hoplite uses a server resource pack alongside custom crafts, Legendary Weapons, custom scenarios, challenges, cosmetics, lobby gadgets, and player statuses. The optional Hoplite Installer adds supported client mods, most notably proximity voice chat.
Battle Royale uses a designed map centered on the Cornucopia, with mineable terrain, caves, structures, loot routes, and areas to explore during the preparation phase.
PvP combines vanilla movement, melee, ranged combat, terrain, resource timing, and custom Legendary Weapons. Battle Royale rewards players who can turn early mining and crafting into a strong combat setup, while Duels concentrates on direct fights and repeat practice.
Gems are the main spendable currency. Players can buy gem packs, use gems for gifts and Battle Pass levels, and earn gems through play and mode progression. The store also sells VIP ranks, bundles, cosmetics, and nickname passes.
Seasonal content has included Hoplite Champions seasons, limited-time Battle Royale queues, mystery crates, new scenarios, and challenge-focused updates. The Battle Pass also provides rotating free and VIP cosmetic tracks.
Discord is the main place for announcements, support, account linking, and punishment appeals. Linked accounts can unlock features such as voice chat access and Discord tags, while parties and party duels support organized group play.
Hoplite strictly prohibits cheats, unfair-information mods, automated actions, account boosting, harassment, doxxing, and exploit abuse. Solo Royale teaming and Civilization Royale crossteaming are prohibited, and stream sniping content creators can result in punishment. Allowed cosmetic and performance mods are listed separately in the rules.
Joining and playing are free. VIP costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year and includes queue priority, gem multipliers, exclusive Battle Pass cosmetics, larger parties, lobby flight, gadgets, statuses, and other perks. Gems, bundles, nickname passes, and other virtual items are sold separately.
History of Hoplite
Hoplite's first dated public announcement arrived in September 2023, followed by the introduction of Battle Royale in October. Battle Pass and cosmetics were added during the same opening period, establishing a competitive server with progression beyond individual matches.
In 2025, Hoplite expanded its competitive side with a new Battle Pass, a Competitive Duels update that added three modes, and the fourth season of Hoplite Champions. Duels became a distinct place for shorter fights alongside the larger Battle Royale format.
The November 2025 overhaul moved the network to newer Minecraft versions, introduced a limited-time One Block Royale queue, added five Legendary Weapons, and brought Bedrock crossplay. The May 2026 Challenges update added five more legendaries and eleven scenarios, continuing the server's focus on rotating combat content and custom items.
