About Gladius
Gladius keeps survival close to vanilla while removing the protection normally provided by land claims. Players gather resources, build and hide bases, raid rival groups, and decide how much they trust other players in a low-rule world where PvP and griefing are part of the experience. Crystal and anchor combat are disabled, keeping fights closer to ordinary survival PvP.
What Makes It Different
Gladius combines open raiding and griefing with no land claims and a strict no-hacking rule. Bases are protected through secrecy, distance, and defense instead of claim plugins, while disabled crystal and anchor PvP keeps combat focused on more familiar survival gear and terrain.
Raiding is attacking another player’s base to breach its defenses, reach its valuables, and weaken or destroy its ability to operate.
Raiding rival bases is explicitly allowed and forms a major part of the server's intended player interaction.
Anarchy is a Minecraft server style where players operate under very few enforced rules, leaving survival and conflict largely in player hands.
The server intentionally uses a low-rule survival environment where players manage danger, alliances, secrecy, and conflict themselves.
Semi-Vanilla servers keep Minecraft’s ordinary survival progression while adding a limited set of server-specific changes around it.
The server preserves standard survival progression while adding limited server-side changes and gameplay rules.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Open player combat is central, including wilderness fights, ambushes, base defense, and organized raids.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Players follow ordinary survival progression through mining, farming, exploration, building, equipment upgrades, and base development.
The main loop is straightforward survival with a social risk attached. Players mine, farm, explore, build bases, gather combat gear, and choose whether to cooperate, form a society, raid another base, or stay hidden. With no land claiming, any visible build can become a target and travel between settlements carries real danger.
Progress follows standard survival priorities: improve tools and armor, secure food and resources, develop a base, and build enough stockpiled gear to recover from raids or failed fights. Advancement comes from what players establish in the world rather than from a separate class or quest ladder.
The server stays close to vanilla and uses server-side additions rather than a required modpack. Armor stand ticking is enabled, chat reporting is disabled, and ViaVersion has been used to allow clients from multiple Minecraft versions to connect.
Gladius uses a large survival world intended for independent bases, hidden infrastructure, travel, and player-made settlements. The lack of land claims makes location and concealment important parts of choosing where to build.
PvP is open and central to the server. Players can fight in the wilderness, defend bases, ambush travelers, or organize raids against rivals. Crystal and anchor PvP are disabled, and hacking or other unfair client advantages are prohibited.
The community is built around player societies, rivalries, banter, and long-running relationships formed through raids and shared survival. The official forum provides discussion, suggestions, staff applications, player reports, and ban appeals, with Discord serving as the main real-time meeting place.
The main hard rule is no hacking or other unfair advantage. Real-life attacks, doxxing, and targeted personal attacks based on creed, sexuality, or race are prohibited. Otherwise, the server keeps rules light, allows swearing, and expects players to use common sense while accepting PvP, raiding, and griefing.
The official store sells VIP, VIP+, and MVP ranks along with several types of keys. The server presents itself as non-pay-to-win. Voting has also been described as awarding VP that can be used for shop purchases and lootcrate keys.
A no-claims survival world leaves players responsible for choosing locations, hiding valuables, and defending their own builds.
Gladius has no land-claim system, so players protect bases through secrecy, distance, defensive design, and careful location choices.
A server rule that permits players to damage, alter, or destroy other players’ builds rather than guaranteeing universal build protection.
Gladius permits griefing alongside PvP and raiding, making visible structures vulnerable and encouraging players to hide or defend their bases.
A Crystal PvP restriction removes End Crystal combat from the permitted combat toolkit while leaving other PvP approaches available.
Gladius disables both crystal and anchor PvP, keeping combat focused on more familiar survival weapons, armor, and terrain.
Hidden bases are concealed player homes designed to protect resources and equipment from discovery, attack, theft, or destruction.
Because claims are unavailable and raiding is allowed, Gladius players are encouraged to choose remote locations and keep bases or infrastructure hidden.
A large survival world provides extensive space for settlement, exploration, infrastructure, and distant private building locations.
Gladius uses a world described by its FAQ as having a 100,000-block radius, supporting remote bases, travel, and dispersed settlements.
