About Dank Prison
Dank Prison turns the classic rank-up prison loop into a long-term progression game. You mine public and private mines, sell blocks, improve a pickaxe with Spiral and other custom enchants, then turn your drops into crates, keys, tokens, gear, and more upgrades. Mines reset only when you choose, so progress is built around improving your setup instead of waiting for a wipe.
The mining grind connects to fishing, pets, artifacts, relics, awakenings, Autominer, special mines, mini-games, and server-wide booster goals. Gangs add shared bonuses and PvP objectives through outposts and Convoys, giving advanced players reasons to work together and compete.
What Makes It Different
Dank Prison does not reset your main progress. Its central loop is built around Spiral, which lets one pickaxe swing break more blocks as it levels up, creating more money, crates, keys, tokens, and rewards at the same time.
The server also forbids free item boosting between players. Each player has to earn their own progress, even when working with a gang.
RankUP servers make advancing through an ordered series of in-game ranks the main progression goal.
Players advance through A-Free, Prestige, Master, Champion, and Knight rank ladders.
Prison servers turn mining into a gated progression ladder: players break blocks in designated mines, sell the resources, and spend their earnings on ranks that unlock more valuable areas.
The server is fundamentally a rank-up Prison server built around mining and progression.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The server explicitly keeps player progression and does not use traditional resets.
Custom Items are server-created weapons, tools, armor, or usable objects with abilities or properties beyond Minecraft’s standard items.
The server uses custom enchants, pets, artifacts, relics, awakenings, boosters, and special gear.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Mining money, tokens, gems, emblems, crates, keys, and gang banks drive progression.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Dedicated PvP areas, outposts, Convoys, gems, and gang combat are major systems.
Start by mining in rank-based areas and private mines. Sell mined blocks for money, rank up, and use the rewards from mining to improve your pickaxe and other systems.
Mining can produce crates, keys, artifacts, gems, boosters, pets, event crates, and fishing-related items. You can manually reset a mine with /rm when the timing is right, rather than waiting for an automatic reset.
The main rank path runs from A through Free. After Free, players can advance through Prestige, Master, Champion, and Knight tiers.
Progress continues through multiple rank ladders instead of ending after the first completion. Crates can be upgraded through a long tier chain, and new pickaxes can combine automatically with stronger pickaxes received from crates.
Tasks, talents, pets, artifacts, awakenings, custom enchants, private mines, and special areas add additional progression outside the normal rank ladder.
The server has hundreds of custom enchants, including the central Spiral enchant. Its other systems include pets, artifacts, Dragon Eggs, relics, awakenings, gems, Soul Stones, Lucky Blocks, boosters, Autominer, OverDrive, fishing gear, special sets, and custom crate and key systems.
Items can be combined, upgraded, salvaged, protected with special enchants, or stored in dedicated crate and key backpacks.
Dank Prison is organized around prison mines, private mines, special mining areas, fishing areas, PvP zones, and gang objectives rather than a normal reset-based survival world.
Named destinations include Nether Mine, Nether Mine+, Dragons Lair+, Poseidon's Lair, and gang outposts. Private mines give players a personal place to control their mining pace and reset timing.
PvP takes place in dedicated areas and is closely tied to gang competition. Gangs can capture outposts that provide bonuses such as extra tokens, crates, keys, fish, or mining rewards.
The PvP system also includes Convoys, gems, combat-log handling, and a Death Black List. Gang alliances and deliberate cooperation between multiple gangs are against the rules.
Mining income is used for rank-ups and other progression costs. Tokens are important for custom enchants, while unwanted weapons and armor can be salvaged into tokens.
Gangs can use a shared bank for money, gems, and emblems. Money funds gang perks, while gems and emblems can buy temporary outpost boosters. Free item boosting between players is not allowed.
Global Events are server-wide goals based on blocks mined, fish caught, or Autominer time used. Completing a goal activates a temporary 25% booster for crate and key finding through mining, fishing, or Autominer.
Other activities include Convoys, Fishing Frenzy, Champion Frenzy, Donation Party, Lucky Day, 2x Day, Monthly Tier rewards, Plinko, Slots, Wheel of Fortune, and additional mini-games.
Players can join gangs of up to 12 members. Gangs level up through achievement categories such as blocks mined, crates opened, keys used, items salvaged, play time, and fish caught.
Gang levels unlock bonuses, perks, outposts, and gang bases. The server also connects to Discord through DankBot, with account verification, server-chat features for eligible ranks, announcements, and event notifications.
Main chat and Discord chat use English. Other languages are allowed in private messages and gang chat. Approved clients include OptiFine, Badlion, Lunar, 5zig, and LabyMod.
Auto-clickers, macros, scripts, mining bots, AFK-kick bypasses, exploits, automation, account sharing, VPNs, and attempts to crash or compromise the server are not allowed. A household may use up to four unique accounts. Gang alliances and planned cooperation between multiple gangs during PvP are also prohibited.
The official store sells ranks, rank upgrades, pets, shards, artifacts, Dragon Eggs, relics, awakenings, Autominer time, private-mine slots, and other items.
Higher ranks can provide convenience commands, additional private mines, mine-reset cooldown reductions, player vaults, and access to special features. Purchases are delivered to the Minecraft username entered at checkout.

History of Dank Prison
Dank Prison lists January 1, 2018 as its opening date and credits Dank420Girl as its creator and owner. It was built as a custom-coded Prison server rather than a simple collection of downloaded plugins.
A formal release history begins with version 1.0.0 on November 10, 2020. The early releases were grouped into named eras such as The Dank Beginning, The Next Chapter, The Dank TakeOver, and The Dank Redefinition.
During 2021 and 2022, the server expanded through frequent releases covering its mining systems, gangs, PvP features, custom items, fishing, pets, and progression tools. The 1.5.5 release on October 16, 2022 added Bedrock support through the same network address with a separate Bedrock port.
The 1.7.0 release on March 20, 2024 made a private mine part of every new player's journey. Private mining became one of the server's defining ways to control the pace of progression and improve mining efficiency.
Version 1.8.0, released September 4, 2024, marked the Folia upgrade. Later 1.8 releases continued refining the network while preserving the long-running Prison progression instead of replacing it with a seasonal reset.
The server moved into its 10.x release series with version 10.0 on June 25, 2025. Releases through 10.1 added further systems and adjustments while continuing the server's custom-code approach.
Version 10.2 began on January 7, 2026, followed by the 10.3 series in March. The 10.3 updates included a fallback connection system for returning players during Minecraft authentication outages and further Bedrock compatibility fixes.
The 10.4 series began on April 13, 2026. Its updates refined voting rewards and changed private-mine cooldowns to scale with the number of private mines and available reductions. Dank Prison now remains a persistent, heavily customized Prison network with Java and Bedrock access, deep pickaxe progression, group PvP, and a large collection of connected side systems.
