About ByTotem
ByTotem is an early-stage Survival SMP with a separate Creative world for builders. Survival takes a hardcore-inspired approach, where alliances, exploration, and the things you build carry real weight. Creative removes the grind and gives builders a dedicated place to work.
The server adds its own progression through totems and custom enchantments. Seasonal worlds keep the map fresh, while player names, reputations, and stories continue between seasons. Markets and shop districts give the survival side a player-driven economy instead of relying only on server shops.
What Makes It Different
ByTotem separates the world reset from the player legacy. Maps and inventories can change with each season, but names, reputations, and stories are meant to carry forward. Its other major difference is the totem-based progression layer, which gives the SMP more structure than plain vanilla survival.

The community standard is respectful, welcoming, and PG. Early players are expected to help set the tone, and Discord is used for community access, ranks, beta participation, and development discussion.
Respectful and PG conduct is expected. Moderators are responsible for keeping the community safe, resolving disputes, and enforcing the server standard.
Paid ranks are permanent unless a specific exception applies and carry between seasons. Their perks focus on cosmetics and quality-of-life features such as extra homes, colored chat, particles, safe-zone flight, priority login, and expanded shop space. No pay-to-win advantages are offered.

History of ByTotem
Totem Network was built in 2026 around a deliberately handcrafted Survival SMP. Its early design focused on a smaller, respectful community rather than immediate scale or a crowded collection of game modes.
The first network pillars were Survival and Creative. Survival was shaped as a demanding, living world where players could build alliances and leave behind meaningful projects. Creative gave builders a separate space with unlimited materials and no survival grind.
The network introduced seasonal worlds as a central part of its structure. Each season brings a new landmass and a fresh start for buildings and inventories, while names, reputations, and player stories continue forward.
Custom systems were added around totem-based progression, custom enchantments, and other server-made mechanics. The economy was built around player markets and shop districts, giving players reasons to trade and organize commercial areas.
By August 2026, ByTotem was operating in a closed-beta phase with Survival and Creative available. The network was still expanding its staff and preparing future features while inviting early players to help shape the community and gameplay.
