About Big Blocks
Big Blocks turns survival into a OneBlock climb. You begin with a single block, mine through changing phases, and unlock new materials, mobs, biomes, and rewards as the island develops.
The server adds a skyblock-style economy around that loop. Players can build custom floating islands, trade resources, chase leaderboard progress, and use upgrades that make the next phase easier to reach. Solo play and teamwork both fit naturally.
What Makes It Different
The whole server is built around one changing block instead of a normal overworld start. Mining that block controls your access to new resources and turns island growth into the main adventure.
OneBlock is a Minecraft mode built around repeatedly mining one regenerating block to gather resources and advance through phases.
The server's defining gameplay loop starts players on a single block and advances through phases.
Skyblock is a Minecraft mode where players develop a floating island while gathering and multiplying scarce resources above the void.
Gameplay takes place on floating islands with skyblock-style progression.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server presents its main mode as survival.
Start on a floating island and mine the active OneBlock. Each phase changes the resources and surprises that can appear. Use the materials you earn to expand your island, improve your setup, and prepare for the next stage.
Progression follows block phases, with new biomes, mobs, resources, and rewards appearing as you advance. Island upgrades and rare materials give the grind longer-term goals beyond simply reaching the next phase.
Big Blocks uses custom OneBlock phases, island content, upgrades, rewards, and progression resources instead of relying only on standard Minecraft survival.
The main setting is a floating-island survival world. Custom island layouts give players room to build bases, farms, and larger shared projects as their OneBlock phase advances.
The server includes an economy built around resource value and player trading. Leaderboards give players another reason to optimize their island and progression speed.
Regular events add extra activities and rewards outside the normal OneBlock grind.
Players can progress alone or with friends. Trading and leaderboard competition give the community reasons to interact even when everyone is developing a separate island.
History of Big Blocks
Big Blocks was running by June 2025 as a OneBlock-focused Minecraft server built around skyblock-style survival. Its central idea was simple: start with one block, mine through phases, and expand a floating island as better resources become available.
The server later presented a broader survival package around that foundation. Custom islands, upgrades, player trading, an economy, leaderboards, parkour, and recurring events gave players more to do between OneBlock milestones.
Today, Big Blocks remains centered on long-form OneBlock progression rather than a large collection of unrelated game modes. Its current survival experience combines phase-based mining with island building, economic goals, cooperative play, and competitive leaderboard progress.
